Every year, SPCA Auckland is inundated with thousands of unwanted kittens. With ‘kitten season’ showing no signs of slowing, and in recognition of World Spey Day, SPCA Auckland is launching its first targeted desexing programme of the year to reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens needing rescuing and rehoming.

From 13-24 March 2017, we are offering FREE DESEXING for cats in 12 Auckland suburbs. Over the past three years, 25,000 cats and kittens have arrived at SPCA Auckland and these areas contribute significantly to the thousands of kittens and cats who arrive at SPCA Auckland each year.

Did you know that a desexed cat...
• Is less likely to spray and mark their territory in your house?
• Is less likely to yowl loudly throughout the night?
• Is less likely to get into fights and require medical care?
• Has reduced risk of health problems such as cancer?
• Is more affectionate and friendly?
• Lives a longer, healthier life?

If your cat is not desexed and you live in Avondale, Glen Innes, Henderson, Mangere, Manurewa, Massey, Mt Roskill, Mt Wellington, Otahuhu, Otara, Papakura or Papatoetoe, call us today on (09) 256 7310 to secure your free appointment.
Please SHARE this post and help make a difference in the lives of the thousands of unwanted cats born each year in Auckland.

Our goal is to desex at least 500 cats and kittens, which will potentially prevent thousands of kittens being born with no home in the next year alone. This is only possible through the generosity of our supporters and our partnership with local vet clinics in these communities.

Free desexing appointments are limited, so cat owners should call SPCA Auckland today on (09) 256 7310 to book early and avoid disappointment.
